PEPPERS

Delia F1 Pepper

Featured: Delia F1 Pepper - This is a very special pepper to me. My german grandfather who I called "Opu" grew peppers in upstate New York. He dried them out and about 30 years later, I tried to germinate them. People told me that there was no point because they were too old but 3/80+ seeds germinated. It was hard but I managed to get two of them to grow full size. The Opu pepper is shown below. I haven't been able to verify what type of pepper it is but obviously it is some kind of annuum. The problem was that it didn't really have the heat level that I prefer, so I crossed it with a yellow scotch bonnet (father). The result is Sweet Delia; a spicy, thin skinned, bright pepper that tastes like a citrus plant had a kid with hot pepper. F2 seeds are growing now and I am getting close to tasting them!! I will update photos later. Post: 03/2026

The Opu

Featured: The Opu - This was grown from 30 year old seeds! I was shocked by how little heat there was. I had one that was a tiny bit spicy but not much. The leaves were massive! The fruits were firm but not too hard or waxy of skin. Great flavor. I could chew on them all day long. The thing that doesn't make sense to me is that my grandfather said they were spicy. Maybe it's possible that my small closet grow didn't provide enough to the pepper plant? Who knows?! Post: 03/2026

Thai Peppers

Featured: Thai Peppers (small, medium and large) - My buddy was in Thailand and brought back seeds. He bought three types of peppers from a street market and the women selling them said the smallest is the hottest. The large ones are longggg. These are getting grown out now and will be cross pollinated to make some new peppers! Post: 03/2026
